Snail's Persevering Path
In a garden so grand, with dewdrops like gems, Lived Slimy the Snail, with his shell like a helm. He spied a tall sunflower, way up so high, "I want to reach it— give that petal a try!" But his path was a trek, over pebbles and grass, Friends chuckled soft, "You're too slow— let it pass! It'll take all day, maybe more than a week— Stay here in the shade, where the munchies are meek."
Slimy waved antennae, his trail gleaming wet, "One inch at a time— I won't quit yet! Perseverance whispers, 'Keep going, my friend,' Even if slow, you'll get there in the end." The ants dashed ahead, the worms burrowed deep, While Slimy inched on, no time for a weep. The sun climbed higher, shadows short and so sweet— But oh, what a hill! Steep as a treat!
The hill loomed large, like a mountain of green, Slimy's foot stuck— oh, what a scene! He slipped back once, then twice with a slide, "Too tough," grumbled doubts, from deep down inside. But he thought of the sunflower, its face smiling wide, And gripped with his muscle, pulled up with his pride. Inch by slippery inch, through mud and through stone, Perseverance his guide— he pressed on alone.
Then raindrops came pattering, soft at the start, But soon a downpour, flooding his heart. His trail washed away, the path turning to stream, Slimy floated a bit— oh, what a bad dream! "Why keep on?" the water teased with a splash, But he clung to a leaf, with a tenacious dash. "When things get wet, dry off and retry— Perseverance shines brightest under the sky!"
The clouds cleared away, but a shadow flew near— A sparrow so curious, with a peck and a peer. "You're tasty and slow— a snack for my beak!" Slimy ducked quick into thorns, with a squeak. Hidden and safe, but his goal still so far, He waited till quiet, then out 'neath a star. "Birds come and go, but dreams stay the same— Keep inching ahead, stake your claim!
The night turned to dawn, with a rosy-hued glow, Slimy's trail longer than he'd ever know. Friends passed him by, with a wave and a cheer, "You're almost there— persevere, persevere!" One last big pebble, smooth and so round, He circled and circled, then up with a bound. No giving up now— the flower's in sight, His shell shining proud in the morning's soft light.
At last! Slimy touched base on the petal so grand, The sunflower nodded, "You've crossed all the land! Your journey was long, with twists and with turns, But perseverance burns— oh, how it yearns!" His friends buzzed around, eyes wide with delight, "We doubted your speed, but not your fight. Inch by inch wins the race, steady and true— You're our hero snail, through and through!
From then on, Slimy led trails short and tall, Teaching the garden to never stall. When hurdles arise, big or seemingly small, Persevere with heart— you'll conquer them all! It's not about speed or a flashy display— It's sticking it out, day after day. Your path may meander, but oh, what a view, When you reach the bloom, shining like new.
As moonbeams danced soft on the garden so still, Slimy curled in his shell, with a contented thrill. More paths to persist, more goals to pursue— A snail persevering, tried and true
